EVETTE GRIFFIE
Evette Griffie is a bridge builder. She is a corporate and community leader whose business acumen, ability to develop strong relationships, and skill in building high performing teams drives results.
Evette is currently Vice President of Customer & Community Engagement at DTE Energy, a Detroit based diversified energy company. At DTE, she leads teams responsible for DTE's customer and community outreach in addition to overseeing customer billing and financial operations which include initiatives to deliver energy assistance to vulnerable customers.
Prior to joining DTE Energy, Evette held roles in public affairs and corporate finance. Her experience spans across the telecommunications, financial services, and economic development sectors.
Evette is passionate about her involvement in the Detroit community. In addition to mentoring at risk students, she served on the Detroit Board of Police Commissioners and the Detroit Brownfield Redevelopment Authority. She currently serves on the board of the Belle Isle Conservancy, Big Brother Big Sister of Southeast Michigan, and is a member of The Links, Incorporated.
A champion for women’s issues and diversity initiatives throughout her career, Evette has led employee resource groups and actively serves on company diversity committees where she advocates and works toward inclusion and equity in the workplace.
Evette has been recognized by Crain’s Detroit “20 in their 20’s” and by the Michigan Chronicle as a Woman of Excellence and a “40 under 40.” She has also been the recipient of the Michigan Chronicle Legacy in Motion Rising Star Award, the Detroit Young Professional Vanguard Award, and the Women’s Thrive Conference Shooting Star Award.
Evette holds both a Bachelor of Business Administration and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Michigan Ross School of Business. She and her family proudly reside in Detroit.
